Feel the Breeze

Yesterday, the boys and I went on a nice bike ride with some friends. We are very fortunate to live near a paved bike trail, so off we went on our adventure. 2 Moms + 5 kids = some drama. I honestly have no idea how many miles we rode. We were out there for about 1 hour and 45 minutes with a 20 minute rest stop. My boys were the first with the drama. Noah is acting out with the lovely middle child syndrome and proceeded to get very mad at David. Noah rode away from us so fast, that none of us could see him. We did catch up to him, but it was scary for me.

During our ride back, he calmed down and we were able to enjoy our time. The trail is shaded and the breeze felt wonderful. My legs and bum might argue with you, but it was a good time. We topped it off by going back to our friends' house to enjoy their hot tub!

Acres of Fun

For the past 2 Saturday's, David and Noah have spent the afternoon with friends from school. These friends live on 35 acres with lots of wooded areas to explore. They also have a 4 wheeler and a go-cart. Today, my boys got to drive the go-cart and they loved it! I am so thankful to have friends that let my kids hang out and enjoy their land. It's a nice change for the boys since we live in your typical cookie-cutter home subdivision with a postage stamp size yard. Not a lot of room to explore here, yet we are thankful for it.

#1 Reason to hi-lite My Hair

My 12-year old has been throwing away his packed lunch in his garbage can. Why? He's not hungry and instead of returning the unopened food items, he has thrown away one week's worth of food! Needless to say, be glad you were not in my home yesterday afternoon, it was loud!

The irony of the situation: he is participating in World Vision's 30-hour famine with his youth group this weekend to raise money to feed children! HELLO SON! UGH!

David survived the camp out this weekend. The weather channel's website had their camping area as a high of 24 degrees for Saturday and I believe they were correct. David did a good job of listening to his scoutmaster and staying warm. He had 3 layers on top and bottom with 2 pairs of socks. They hiked 6.5 miles on Saturday and went to 3 caves. He loved it and I am so thankful that he stayed warm!

Nerf Battle

Ethan and Noah were playing Nerf Battle today with a few of the Nerf guns that the boys have. I have never had a problem with them playing before,the nerf darts are soft and majority of the ends of them are rubber. Well, Ethan must have aimed right at Noah's face and shot. Noah was hit directly in his left eye with a dart that had a velcro tip on it. His eye is red and you can see where it hit. I am calling the eye doctor in the morning to find out what can be done. The Nerf guns have been banned for a while with strict instruction that if they get them back, they have to wear the goggles that came with them. Adventures with boys, what can I say.
