Thankful

I am thankful today for so many things. I am thankful for God - that he loves me! I am thankful for my husband - that he puts up with me! I am thankful for my children - that they still want to be around me! I am thankful for our health - especially with my families genetics! I am thankful for the power of prayer - especially now!

Please pray for my great-niece, Michelle. She is in Children's Hospital with pneumonia.

We're Getting Out

Today is snow day #5 and we are getting out of the house even if we have to clear the streets ourselves! Our road is still icy, but the main roads are clear. I am taking the boys, my neighbor's 3 kids and meeting up with a friend and her 3 to play Laser Tag. 2 Moms + 9 kids = Noise, at least it won't be in my house. Our local laser tag place, Lazer Kraze, is offering $5 missions today. It will be a great time for the kids to run and blow off steam while my friend and I catch up.

I am really hoping they have school on Monday - another chance of snow is headed our way late Sunday night. Ugh!

Do you like our sleds?

Our boys do not have sleds so they are using storage bin lids. They made a small incline in the flower bed and are "sledding" on it. We are THAT family. Oh, and it's snow day #4 - no school again. Help!!

Snowed In

We are snowed in again and the natives are getting restless. David wants to go to school, there is a dance this Friday evening and he's hoping it doesn't get cancelled. I am guessing that they will be home again on Thursday. We received ice/sleet during the night and it is snowing again. I have come down with a nasty head cold and have yet to get out of my jammies today.

David and Noah are attempting to shovel our driveway again. Josh is home too, since the roads were not good to drive to Michigan. I think we are getting a little stir crazy! Help!

Our Second Snow Day

Today is our second snow day for the year. Our school actually took 2 "snow days" in September when Hurricane Ike came through. However, today is the first big snowfall of the year. I think there's about 5 inches of snow. The boys are out in it again as I write this. David and Noah are shoveling our neighbor's drive and walkway while Ethan rolls around in the snow. I am predicting another snow day for Wednesday.

A Perfect Check-Up

David and Noah had their 6 month dental check-up today. It went so much better than Ethan's. They both received a perfect check-up and I didn't receive any mommy guilt! The boys also had a snow day and we may have another one on Tuesday. I look at snow days as mixed blessings. We get to sleep in but then the boys are home all day long! I sent them out in the snow to play twice today so I had a little break.

David survived the camp out this weekend. The weather channel's website had their camping area as a high of 24 degrees for Saturday and I believe they were correct. David did a good job of listening to his scoutmaster and staying warm. He had 3 layers on top and bottom with 2 pairs of socks. They hiked 6.5 miles on Saturday and went to 3 caves. He loved it and I am so thankful that he stayed warm!
