Our neighborhood has several ponds in it with lots of ducks and geese. As I was driving home yesterday, I noticed a mom and her preschool aged child feeding the ducks at one of the ponds. This brought back a memory that I must share.
Ethan was around 2 years old and still enjoying his stroller. I took him for a walk and we stopped to look at the ducks. He got out of his stroller and was watching them, this is a good thing. All of a sudden a huge gust of wind came and the (empty) stroller rolled down the bank and into the pond. Ethan and I both shouted and were upset at the scene. Thankfully, Ethan wasn't in the stroller as it began to sink some into the water.
I gathered him and hurried home to get Josh to rescue our stroller. Bless his heart, he had to go waist deep in the water to retrieve it. After a good cleaning, it was ready to use again. Lesson learned: keep a hand on your stroller at all times and stand back from the water.
